The City of Novi covers nearly 32 square miles in which our residents live, learn, play, and work. From implementing the Oakland County transit plan in Novi to ensuring our library is fully funded, our next Mayor and Council should be accessible to the people they serve and support initiatives which will bring our residents together and allow them to connect within our community.
Reliable Utilities for Novi
Sunny days in Novi shouldn’t lead to power outages - but they do. DTE has failed to prepare its infrastructure for today’s era of climate change and extreme weather, and it’s affecting residents in every corner of the City. As Mayor, I will work with county and state leaders and neighboring communities to explore all options to keep the lights on for Novi residents.
Connecting Our City - Public Transit for All Residents
In November 2022, Novi voters overwhelmingly supported the Oakland County Transit Millage, and our next City Council will be tasked with advocating for a plan that makes lives easier for all Novi residents. As Mayor, I will expand local transit availability for our older adult residents and residents with disabilities who rely on those services to get around.
I will also advocate for transit options which emphasize Novi’s business and entertainment centers while ensuring that our infrastructure can accommodate new transit.
Connecting Residents - Library Funding
Education is a core value for Novi residents, and they expect the services and amenities available here to invest in their children’s futures. Our library is facing program cuts as a result of being funded under the millage for the previous library. As Mayor, I will support sending a millage proposal to voters in my first term which will adequately fund our library and protect its programming from budget cuts.
Connecting with Our Neighbors
Novi is impacted both directly and indirectly by the decisions being made in the communities around us. Novi residents are inconvenienced when we fail to plan and work together. As Mayor, I will commit to restoring partnerships with our neighboring communities, advocating for our shared interests and being a good steward of Novi residents’ tax dollars.
Connecting Residents to Each Other
As our city has been developed, we are now facing a shortage of usable land where our residents can gather together. Because of the popularity of existing spaces, most residents are unable to take advantage of the great social opportunities our city has to offer. As Mayor, I will propose a feasibility study to determine the interest and viability of a community space to enhance the lives of our residents and fill a void in our city.
